Kevin Coates: A Bestiary of Jewels Until 30 March Kevin Coates creates ornate jewellery from gold, precious stones, shell, and other exotica. This free exhibition displays jewels based on Medieval Bestiaries. See Dr Coates in conversation with Professor Christopher Cook on 15 March.

Ashmolean acquires major Chinese art collection The Ashmolean has acquired the greatest collection of contemporary Chinese art in the western world. Over 400 objects have been given to the museum by the late Prof Michael Sullivan (1916-2013).
